How is this program run?

This program is running face-to-face.


What will I do?

The Learning Labs volunteer role allows you to work with a group of motivated and passionate school students and their teacher/academic over a two day workshop.


How will I benefit?

By gaining the opportunity to work with high achieving school students, you will develop your pedagogy, team work and communication skills.

Are there any special requirements for this role?

You will need a NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) to volunteer with Learning Labs. If you don't already have one, you can apply for a WWCC for free. We welcome students studying any degree to come and volunteer with Learning Labs.


Minimum requirements for UOWx recognition

To receive UOWx recognition, you must complete the following:

  • An "engaged" student will need to complete 15 hours over a calendar year
  • A 'highly engaged' student will need to complete 30 hours over a calendar year

One-off, holiday workshops are run for 12 hours in Summer, 12 hours in Winter and volunteers are given 1 hour induction.
