As a UOW student, it’s your right to feel safe and supported on campus, in an environment that’s free from discrimination, harassment, and assault.
Students told us they want ongoing education and awareness around consent to create change in this space. So we have made our Consent Matters Module mandatory for all students currently studying at UOW or UOW College in Australia.
*Please complete the Module on a computer with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge browsers.
To help shape a safe and respectful environment at UOW, you will need to complete this module before the end of the 2022 academic year, to avoid your results being withheld.
Students who have previously completed Consent Matters will not have to do the training again. Students who have experienced or witnessed sexual violence can ask for an exemption by contacting the SARC team sarc-uow@uow.edu.au.
Reporting and support
If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, you’re not alone.
UOW’s Safe and Respectful Communities team (SARC) is here to support students who have witnessed or experienced sexual assault, harassment, domestic and family violence, bullying or discrimination.
The team is available 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday and are on standby to respond to emergencies 24/7.
