We’re enhancing the Disability Service at UOW to provide a more inclusive and accessible experience for students.
The service is now called the Student Accessibility and Inclusion (SAI) team and, while the name of the service is different, our commitment to gold standard care and an accessible learning journey for all students at UOW is the same.
The Student Accessibility and Inclusion (SAI) team offers personalised assistance for students living with a disability who are studying at UOW. We use reasonable adjustments, provided through Access Plans, to enable students with disability to participate in education on the same basis as students without disability.
Aside from our name change, we have launched a new-look UOW website with information about how to register and book appointments, along with a new booking portal called Access, which will help to streamline the appointment booking process.
How does the new portal work?
Students can use the new portal, called Access, to register for the service, book appointments and communicate with their current SAI case manager. This portal will house information key to your participation in study.
If you are already registered with the service, you can access the portal here.
If you are not registered with the service yet but would like to book an appointment or speak to someone about your study needs, visit our website to find out more or to complete a registration form. There are also lots of tips on the website to help you prepare for your first consultation.
Who can use the Student Accessibility and Inclusion (SAI) service?
If any of the following are impacting on your study, we encourage you to reach out:
- Mental health conditions
- Vision impairment, hearing impairment and other sensory disabilities
- Medical conditions and chronic illness and pain
- Injuries and physical disabilities
- Learning disabilities
- Neurological disabilities and acquired brain injuries
- Temporary disabilities
