UOW RESPECT WEEK | 29 AUGUST - 2 SEPTEMBER 2022

A week of open and honest conversations that address the issues not spoken about, and celebrates our diverse community at UOW.

Violence, abuse and harrassment happen to people every day, and it is not ok. Be part of the change and learn how to shape the next generation of respect by getting involved in the inaugural UOW Respect Week.

Monday 29 August: Cultural Courage

Be part of a permanent artwork to be placed on the UOW Wollongong library doors to represent our diverse and inclusive community.


EMPOWER HOUR: THE CULTURE CONVERSATION*

Operating from a standpoint of truth-telling and personal experiences from UOW students and staff, this panel will explore the complexities of culture and what respect looks and feels like for the Indigenous and international community.

Bystanders are in a position to stop abuse from happening, to prevent abuse from escalating or support someone involved. Understand the psychological and social barriers to becoming an effective bystander, and how to navigate around those barriers with this free MATE webinar training.

Get your team of three together and race your way around the Wollongong Campus following clues and completing challenges (aka answering questions). This fund offers academic, professional services staff and UOW higher degree research students the opportunity to apply for support to facilitate equity and diversity initiatives and promote workplace safety and respect at UOW.
