Candidate Statement:
As a final-year nursing student, I am passionate about representing the voices, concerns, and ideas of students in a professional, approachable, and constructive way. Some of you may already know me from around the university, and also because I have served as a Student Representative for the Bachelor of Nursing cohort in both 2025 and 2026 across years 2 and 3. Through this experience, I have developed strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and advocacy skills while building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Throughout my university journey and clinical placements, I have gained a deeper understanding of the academic, personal, financial, and placement-related challenges students can face. These experiences have strengthened my ability to listen, understand concerns, and advocate effectively for meaningful and practical improvements to the student experience. As an international student, I understand the unique pressures and adjustments many international students experience. At the same time, I strongly value inclusivity and equal representation, and I am committed to advocating for the concerns of both international and domestic students. My goal in joining the Collaborative Delivery and Oversight Committee is not for personal gain, but to genuinely represent students and contribute toward positive changes within the university. If elected, I will actively listen to student feedback, raise important concerns, and work collaboratively with staff and peers to ensure student voices are heard. Together, we can help strengthen the quality, support, and overall experience of university life for current and future students.
