Law double degrees

For those who want the best of both worlds...

UOW Law double degrees open the door to a variety of career opportunities within existing and emerging industries. Employers seek UOW Law graduates for the exemplary critical thinking and specialist skills developed through their studies. As a double degree student, you will receive a thorough grounding in law, combined with an equally passionate specialisation.

My name is Cohben and I'm studying a Bachelor of Laws. I would love to be a Barrister because advocacy has sort of always been my strong point. But it's only early days so I'm not too sure. I want to use law as a tool to connect with diverse groups within the community to achieve social justice and equality.

Benefits of a law double degree

  • Graduate sooner - double degrees are typically completed one or even two years faster than two separate degrees, without compromise to the full legal curriculum.
  • Prepare for the future - law double degree combinations give students the skills and flexibility required to deal with complex legal issues within existing and emerging industries.
  • Gain real-world experience - UOW is the only university in Australia to require law students undertake a legal internship with outside employers as part of their studies, allowing students to apply their legal knowledge to real-life situations before they graduate.
  • Expand your career options - employers are attracted to the diverse education and breadth of skill double degree graduates possess. The combined knowledge of each study area is adaptable and valuable in the workplace.
  • Follow your passion - combine the practical and analytical skills of a law degree with a discipline that you’re equally passionate about to provide variety within your studies.
  • Build your professional network - explore your passions while expanding your professional network across multiple industry sectors.
