All UOW students have access to a suite of free services, resources and assistance designed to enhance your university experience, and your capacity to achieve your study and career objectives. We also have services specifically tailored to students at UOW Southern Highlands.

Student support and advice

Not sure who to talk to? Our Student Support Coordinators offer confidential support with any challenges impacting your studies.

Accessibility & Inclusion

The Student Accessibility and Inclusion (SA&I) team provide confidential advice and support for issues affecting your studies, including reasonable adjustments for short or long-term health conditions and carers’ responsibilities. Support is available via the campus SA&I specialist sue_leppan@uow.edu.au or by phone on (02) 4248 0841, and through the UOW Student Accessibility and Inclusion team.

Counselling

UOW students can access free and confidential counselling services for a wide range of personal, academic, social, and psychological issues. 24 hour support line: 1300 036 149

UOWx

UOWx is a recognition program designed to encourage and support students to get more involved with the co-curricular activities offered at UOW outside of the classroom. These activities can include volunteering and paid opportunities at UOW and learning opportunities external to UOW.

Scholarships for regional students

At UOW, we believe that where you come from should never limit where you can go. Our scholarships for regional campus students are designed to open doors, remove financial barriers, and empower you to achieve your academic and career aspirations.

A number of orgnaisations offer scholarships and opportunities for students from regional areas. We recommend students contact their local council and search online for scholarships in their region and the field of study they are interested in.

Woolyungah Indigenous Centre

Woolyungah Indigenous Centre (WIC) is committed to increasing the participation and engagement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at the University of Wollongong. They provide programs, services and facilities that encourage and support Indigenous Australians from entry to University, through to successful completion.

 

Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF)

Australian universities, including UOW, have a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) which is used to enhance the services and amenities for students across UOW. The fee is based on Commonwealth legislation introduced in October 2011.
