Scholarships for students studying at UOW Eurobodalla

We recommend that students applying to or currently studying at UOW Eurobodalla consider applying for the following scholarships.

We also recommend students contact their local council and search online for scholarships in their region and field of study they are interested in. 

The 2024 Country to Coast Scholarship will automatically be made available to 2024 Early Admission offer holders from defined regional and remote areas across NSW. Select Indigenous Access Program (IAP) offer holders will also be considered eligible.

The Australian Government has partnered with the University of Wollongong (UOW) to offer the Destination Australia scholarship program. Valued at $15,000 per year for the duration of the recipients' degree, these scholarships aim to support full-time students who choose to stay close to home and study at a UOW Regional campus.

The $3,000 Regional Kick Start scholarships aim to support regional students with resources and living costs during their first year of study and will make it easier to undertake their uni study close to home. Applications are open to non-school leavers and mature-age students.

UOW's Woolyungah Indigenous Centre facilitates scholarships for our future and current Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students.

These $3,000 scholarships per year over a duration of 3 years recognise the capacity of all students and seek to provide support to ensure students can participate in, and make the most of their higher education. 

Transforming Futures scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated need such as financial or social disadvantage. 

To be considered for this scholarship you must also submit a UAC Equity Scholarship application.

Scholarship helped Deborah achieve her long-held ambition

UOW graduate Deborah Combes said the financial support provided by the Destination Australia scholarship allowed her to study full-time and “provided an incentive to work hard as I felt privileged to receive the scholarship – I wanted to achieve the best results I could”.

Other scholarships for regional students

Equity Scholarships help disadvantaged students with the general costs associated with tertiary study. They are awarded to students from low socio-economic backgrounds, particularly those who receive Centrelink income support payments such as ABSTUDY, Austudy, Youth Allowance, JobSeeker Payment, Disability Support Pension, Parenting Payment (Single) or the Carer Payment.

NSW Health Aboriginal Nursing Undergraduate Scholarships of up to $1,000 per subject are available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing.

NSW Health offers up to $12,000 to nursing, midwifery, allied health, and medicine students.  
 
Starting in January 2024, the new subsidies offer up to $12,000 paid over three years for students starting their studies in 2024-26 and $8,000 one-off payments for students starting work with NSW Health.   
 
Terms and conditions apply and study areas are eligible for the subsidy, however, if you are considering studying Nursing at a UOW Regional location, it's worth looking at and applying for this subsidy.

Scholarships of up to $5,000 are available for people from rural NSW who are undertaking their first year of a Bachelor of Nursing.
