Further your Nursing career

The University of Wollongong offers a variety of study options with pathway opportunities to further your Nursing career.

Students with a Diploma of Nursing (with professional registration in your country) have the opportunity to commence the Bachelor of Nursing Conversion and following successful completion, progress to the Master of Nursing or Master of Science.

Visa Eligibility

By studying a Bachelor of Nursing Conversion and either a Master of Nursing or Master of Science (Dementia or Gerontology and Rehabilitation), you will be eligible for a minimum of two years Post Study Work Visa. During these two years, you will be eligible to work full time in Australia.

Dual degree pathway options

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Starts: Autumn (February/March) or Spring (July)
  • Scholarships: Eligible for 30% Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship

*The Bachelor of Nursing Conversion at UOW does not lead to the eligibility to apply for registration in Australia.

  • Duration: 1.5 years (including 6 months Bachelor of Nursing Conversion)
  • Starts: Autumn (February/March or Spring (July)
  • Scholarships: Eligible for 30% Postgraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship*
  • Specialisation: Leadership, Person-centred Practice, Mental Health, Dementia Care and Primary Healthcare

* Students who meet the eligibility criteria will be automatically considered when applying for admission to UOW. There is no separate application process. For

  • Duration: 1.5 years (including 6 months Bachelor of Nursing Conversion)
