How Student Success Mentors can help
Our friendly Student Success Mentors are senior university students who know the university ropes. They can help you by:
- Listening to your university experiences and helping you settle in
- Explaining how to navigate the university campus and online systems
- Setting up connections with fellow students in your degree
- Sharing tips and tricks for succeeding at university
They can also help you to get to know what is available to support your success at university and help you access a wide range of services at UOW, including:
- First Session Mentoring
- Social and extra-curricular activities
- Wellbeing support
- Indigenous student support
- International student support
- Student Accessibility and Inclusion (SA&I)
- Careers and Employability, including UOWx
- Peer study programs, such as Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) and Peer Learning Coaching (PLC)

If you have a question and you are not sure who to ask, chat with one of the Student Success Mentors. If they can’t answer your question, they will be able to tell you who to speak with.
Using the space
All students are free to use the Student Success Hub. Come and study, hang out with friends and connect with our Student Success Mentors. The Student Success Hub can also be booked for larger groups and events; please come and chat to us and we will try and accommodate your needs!
