Student support and advice

Not sure who to talk to? Our Student Support Coordinators offer confidential support with any challenges impacting your studies.

Accessibility & Inclusion

For students with a temporary or permanent disability or medical condition, the Student Accessibility and Inclusion Team provide personalised assistance. UOW Bega Valley's Student Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor is Catherine L'Ecuyer. You can reach Cat via email catherine_l'ecuyer@uow.edu.au

Workshops at UOW Bega Valley

Details of upcoming workshops are shared in the "Weekly What's On" email. Topics include Reading for Assignments; Academic Writing; Maths Support; and Exam Preparation.

Consultations

Our Learning Skills Advisors are committed to working with you to reach your study goals and are available to meet with you one-to-one, or in a small group session. Book a consultation with Deb Goughmail or a maths support lecturer via the Student Success Portal.

UOWx

UOWx is a recognition program designed to encourage and support students to get more involved with the co-curricular activities offered at UOW outside of the classroom. These activities can include volunteering and paid opportunities at UOW and learning opportunities external to UOW.

Scholarships for regional students

At UOW, we believe that where you come from should never limit where you can go. Our scholarships for regional campus students are designed to open doors, remove financial barriers, and empower you to achieve your academic and career aspirations.

A number of orgnaisations offer scholarships and opportunities for students from regional areas. We recommend students contact their local council and search online for scholarships in their region and the field of study they are interested in.

Woolyungah Indigenous Centre

Woolyungah Indigenous Centre (WIC) is committed to increasing the participation and engagement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at the University of Wollongong. They provide programs, services and facilities that encourage and support Indigenous Australians from entry to University, through to successful completion.

 

Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF)

Australian universities, including UOW, have a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) which is used to enhance the services and amenities for students across UOW. The fee is based on Commonwealth legislation introduced in October 2011.
