Overview

Develop specialised media skills and learn to understand and interpret complex global issues with a double degree in international studies and communication and media.

The Bachelor of Communication and Media equips you with an understanding of local and global media industries and the training to become an effective communicator using a variety of media, platforms, knowledge and skills that are in high demand across many sectors from business to nonprofit to government agencies.

We support your learning with state-of-the-art facilities including a fully equipped television and video production studio, radio and podcasting suites, design labs, and film production spaces. You can choose to specialise in Digital and Social Media, Marketing, Communication and Advertising, Journalism, Screen Media Production or Visual Communication Design.

Throughout the Bachelor of International Studies, you will analyse national and global issues, learn about the forces shaping the modern world and the theories that underpin our understanding of important global issues. Students are encouraged to study abroad to further expand their skills.

See the course handbook for more information.

A double degree at UOW provides a world-class qualification in less time and at less cost than studying the two degrees separately. Having a double degree will give you a competitive advantage in a crowded job market.
