How Peer Learning Coaches (PLC's) can help you
Our friendly PLC's are senior university students who know how the university works. They can help you by:
- Listening to your university experiences and helping you settle in
- Explaining how to navigate the university campus and online systems
- Assisting your development of academic skills such as time management, assessment planning and maintaining positive study habits
- Sharing tips and tricks for succeeding at university
They can also help you access the wide range of services at UOW that are available to support your success at university, including:
- The UOW First Year Community, via the Student Success Portal
- Social and extra-curricular activities
- Wellbeing support
- Indigenous student support
- International student support
- Student Accessibility and Inclusion (SA&I)
- Careers and Employability, including UOWx
- Peer study programs, such as Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS), and much more!
If you have a question and you are not sure who to ask, chat with one of the PLC's. Login to the Peer Learning Coach program on the UOW Student Success Portal to learn more.
Note: PLC's provide non-subject-specific academic support, focusing on skills such as time management, study strategies, and assessment planning. For subject-specific assistance, consider attending Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS), which are designed to help you succeed in your subjects.
