The Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities brings people and place to life and from that our desire to think, examine, express and create, to act collectively for positive social change. As a new faculty that is our purpose – to provide the foundation and inspiration for living and to work towards a better life for everyone, particularly those who are most vulnerable in society.

The Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities is a community of academics, students and professional staff who are all dedicated to making a difference through high-quality teaching and learning, research and public debate. Our programs are developed and delivered by teaching and research staff who are renowned nationally and internationally for their cutting-edge research and teaching. They are experts and high-level practitioners, with a wealth of industry experience. They will share their love of learning with you and inspire you to pursue your studies to the best of your ability.

Our seven Schools offer degrees and courses that are informed by the latest research, are relevant to contemporary practice and in the case of education, psychology, social work and work health and safety our degrees are accredited by professional bodies. In addition, our degrees focus on professional skills for modern careers in a changing and globalised world. Many of our courses can be taken flexibly, to suit your individual needs, and you can choose to specialise in areas which match your dreams, ambitions and passions.

Our Early Start Initiative aims to give children the best possible start in life through cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, innovative educational programs, experiences and networks that enrich the way we understand and interact with children, families and communities.

Our higher degree research training attracts Australian and international candidates who are keen to work in research centres and schools where students are encouraged to think critically, act and reflect upon their impact. Our researchers are connected to eminent arts, social sciences and humanities academics and centres throughout the world, leading global efforts to achieve the betterment of society.

Even as you explore your interests, you will be prepared for global and local workplaces. Our aim is to ensure that you receive the very best education you can, reflecting international and contemporary perspectives. We offer an outstanding, supportive learning environment, utilising the latest teaching technologies to give you a world-class learning experience. Our graduates are making a difference to the lives of people through social understanding, action and change. I invite you to join us in this pursuit.
