Overview

Studying a Master of Business Analytics with a Master of Professional Accounting helps you stand out in the workforce by equipping you with the ability to turn financial data into insight to inform decisions and strengthen organisational performance. In today’s organisations, accounting teams play a critical role in guiding strategy through clear, reliable, and data‑driven analysis. Studying these degrees together will prepare you to meet these expectations by developing strong accounting foundations and advanced analytical capabilities.

These degrees will equip you with the skills to translate complex financial data into robust analytical models and communicate insights clearly to non‑technical stakeholders. By connecting compliance, reporting and performance analysis, you will support finance teams to operate with greater clarity, consistency and strategic focus.

Graduates develop expertise across auditing, regulation and analytics, enabling the identification of financial risk through emerging patterns and trends. These capabilities support stronger internal controls, effective governance and transparent, evidence‑based reporting. As a result, graduates are prepared to move beyond routine accounting functions and contribute proactively to financial integrity, risk management and organisational oversight.

By completing this double master’s program, students will earn two master’s degrees in two years and build expertise in two in demand areas of business.

See the course handbook for more information.

The Master of Business Analytics equips you with advanced technical and analytical capability. You gain experience preparing and managing data, building dashboards, presenting insights, and applying analytics techniques such as forecasting, optimisation and machine learning. The program builds practical skills using tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, SAS Viya and advanced Excel, ensuring you can deliver data driven recommendations in real business settings.

The Master of Professional Accounting is intended for graduates with a bachelor degree in a discipline other than accounting and provides the knowledge and skills required for entry into the accounting profession.

Students develop foundational knowledge of the concepts, language and theory that underpin accounting methods and practice, together with relevant institutional, legal and practical considerations.

Combining these master’s degrees integrates advanced analytical methods with professional accounting knowledge in response to data driven transformation of the profession. You will develop the ability to combine professional accounting knowledge with analytical tools to improve reporting, support compliance and provide clearer insight for decision‑making.  This combined capability prepares graduates to work confidently with complex organisational data, apply analytics in real business settings, and contribute to contemporary accounting and professional teams where accuracy, insight and digital capability are essential.
