Overview

Employers seek professionals who understand organisational operations and the impact of human resource decisions on financial and operational performance. The combined Master of Business and Master of Human Resource Management supports business informed approaches to people focused leadership. 
 
Human resource management plays a critical role in shaping organisational capability and performance. Studying these degrees together develops the capacity to apply business analysis and strategic thinking to workforce planning, people management and organisational decision making. Graduates build the ability to translate organisational strategy into human resource policies and practices that support capability development, performance and compliance. 
 
Graduates develop applied knowledge and skills across core areas of human resource management, including recruitment and selection, performance management, learning and development, work health and safety, and employment relations. The combined degree supports strategic contribution to organisations by strengthening workforce capability, supporting effective people management, and aligning human resource practice with organisational objectives. 
 
By completing this double master’s program, students will earn two master’s degrees in two years and build expertise in two in-demand areas of business.

The Master of Business builds the fundamental skills you need to succeed in a broad commercial environment. Its flexible structure allows you to choose subjects that match your professional goals and strengthen your understanding of key business functions. 
 
The Master of Human Resource Management develops the expertise required to lead people‑focused functions in complex workplaces. You will build capability in recruitment and selection, performance management, professional development, safe work practices, and the legal requirements that shape the employment relationship. 
 
Studying both master's means you will gain the ability to apply human resource expertise within real business environments. Graduates will learn how human resource practices influence organisational performance, decision‑making and risk and how to support leaders through workforce planning, employee engagement and capability development. This prepares you to work confidently across teams and functions, contribute to organisational change initiatives and support sustainable workplace practices in complex organisational settings.

  • Academic Entry Requirements

    A recognised bachelor’s degree in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%. 
    OR
    A Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%. 
    OR 
    A recognised master's degree in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%. 

    Other tertiary qualifications, combined with extensive professional work experience, may also be considered.

  • Workload

    Full-Time Study Load

    As a full-time student, you can expect to commit around 48 hours of study per week. This includes class time and independent study. You may need to factor more time for examination study, practical work and placements.

    If you have completed prior studies or relevant professional experience, you can request course credit or subject exemptions to reduce the duration and cost of your program.
