Below are some key UOW support services and how you can access them.
There’s been some minor changes to the ground floor of the UOW Library to enhance access and increase visibility of services in this area. You can read about these changes in AskUOW.
1. AskUOW
Your first point of contact for any questions relating to your studies. You can search the extensive range of FAQs at any time, or contact the team directly during opening hours.
2. Student Success Portal
An online portal where you can access a range of support and resources, all in one place.
- Book Learning and Maths Skills Advisor appointments
- Access a Peer Academic Coach
- Access the UOW First Year Community
- Join the International Student Community
- Connect with student representatives and student/ staff partnership opportunities

3. Support and wellbeing
A range of services to support your wellbeing including:
- 24-Hour Wellbeing Support Line: Immediate support if you or someone you are supporting is experiencing distress, feeling overwhelmed or anxious. Contact via phone or SMS, anytime, all year round.
- Counselling Services: A free counselling service providing support with a wide range of personal, academic, social and psychological issues that may be impacting your life.
- Student Support Coordinators: Personalised, confidential support to navigate any challenge that may be impacting on your studies.
- Student Accessibility: Personalised assistance for students experiencing temporary or permanent disability or medical condition/s.
4. Academic skills support
Improve your academic performance and study skills by accessing UOW's extensive range of free academic skills support services.
Online and in-person appointments can be booked via the Student Success Portal, or you can drop into the Academic Skills Hub on the ground floor of UOW Library for access to:
- Learning and Maths Skills Advisors
- Peer programs
- Careers and Employability services
- Library services
5. UOW Library
Live Chat with the Library or search FAQs for help finding free online and print resources, subject readings, study spaces to focus and collaborate, and more. Take advantage of the SSAF-funded extended opening hours.
6. Safety and respect
UOW offers a range of services and support for students who have witnessed or experienced gender-based violence (including sexual violence and domestic and family violence), bullying, harassment, racism or discrimination of any kind, including the Safe and Respectful Communities (SARC) team.
UOW Security is also available 24/7 if you have any safety concerns. The SafeZone app is the easiest and quickest way to contact UOW Security.
