Invasive species

Introduction of exotic species into Australian ecosystems represents a significant threat to species and ecosystem function. Our work focuses on understanding impacts, measuring loss in ecosystem function and providing research into ideas and tools for helping conservation managers reduce the impacts of invasive species, including maintaining and extend existing ecosystems and their biodiversity, of both plants and animals, especially ecosystems under threat.

Work in this research area is currently underway in the laboratories of CSES Members Kris French, Andy Davis, Laurie Chisholm, David Ayre, Todd Minchinton, Marian Wong and Ben Gooden.
