WIGL Facilities
- The Distillery Lab: This facility specialises in the ultra-trace preparation of geological, biological, and archaeological samples for high-precision isotopic and elemental analysis. Over its first decade, the lab has processed more than 8,000 samples, utilising advanced ion exchange chromatography to support a global network of academic researchers and students.
- Laser Ablation ICP-MS Lab: This facility provides comprehensive geochemical analysis, including elemental concentration and isotopic fingerprinting, to support research in earth sciences, archaeology, and biomedical fields. It specialises in high-precision services such as geochronological dating and micrometre-scale chemical mapping of biological tissues.
- Gas Sorption Analysis: This instrument provides a measure of surface area, pore size and volume distribution, using the principle of physisorption.
