The Ground Floor of Wollongong Campus Library is open to UOW students and staff for extended hours during key study periods to give you access to the Library when you need it most.
During extended hours periods, alumni and guests can continue to access the Library within standard opening hours.
UOW student or staff ID is required for entry from 10 pm Monday – Friday, and from 8 pm Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.
Autumn Session 2026
Extended hours in Autumn will run from Week 1 to the end of Autumn Session exams.

From Monday 2 March to Wednesday 24 June:
Monday – Friday: 7 am to 2 am
Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays: 8 am to 12 am (midnight)

Library support
Library in-person and Live Chat services available Monday – Friday 8 am to 9.30 pm and Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays 8 am to 7.30 pm.
Safety and security after dark
UOW Security will be onsite to ensure your safety and wellbeing. UOW Security provide after dark safety escorts from the Library to motor vehicles and bus stops either on Wollongong campus or Northfields Avenue.
After dark safety escorts can be requested via the SafeZone app, which all students and staff are encouraged to download for use in case of an emergency.
