Our research is driven by the goal to help people live better lives. We tackle complex challenges from an interdisciplinary approach bringing together experts across Business, Education, Law, Social Sciences, Creative Arts and Communication, Humanities, and Liberal Arts. Guided by academic rigour and social relevance, we utilise partnerships with industry, government and communities to turn ideas into meaningful action.  

 

Our research institutes

Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS)

ANCORS is Australia's only multidisciplinary university-based centre focused on research, education, and training in ocean law, maritime security, and marine resource management. It offers expert-led short courses, degrees, and research programs to address global marine challenges.

Early Start Research Institute

The UOW Early Start Institute is a collaborative initiative improving the life trajectories of children, families, and communities through research, education, and community engagement. It prioritises healthy development, creativity, play, and strong cultural connections to support positive outcomes.​
