Catering by Chartwells

The Catering at I-House is provided by Chartwells, which is part of the Compass Group. All dietary requirements are catered for including health, religious, lifestyle or other. The menus follow Chartwells’ nutritious dining to help support academic achievement at the highest levels.

Our catering meets all registered dietary requirements. Please ensure that you have advised the Office, so the requirements are recorded. We cannot guarantee that the meals meet all Resident preferences, which are different to a dietary requirement. We provide catered meals; however, they are not unlimited in their serving sizes.

Residents are required to confirm attendance at breakfast and dinner through the Jumpr+ app.

You will be unable to claim your meal without confirmation of attendance.

Breakfast

7.30 am - 10.30 am - Monday to Saturday
9 am to 11 am - Sunday brunch

Continental breakfast: is served daily (cereal, toast, yoghurt, and fruit options) 

Hot breakfast: is served on - Monday, Wednesday, Friday and on Sunday Brunch (this menu changes slightly, for variety over these days) 

Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available during all mealtimes.

Dinner

Daily - 6 pm - 8 pm

During the Dinner service, the protein option is served to Residents by our Chef or Catering Assistants. Portion size and nutritional value is in line with the Australian Dietary Guidelines. Where possible Residents can select half portion of two dishes, however not all dishes will be able to be halved.

Options for sides - vegetables, salad and carbohydrates are self-serve. Chartwells-made desserts are provided 3 days per week and ice cream on other days. During this service, water and cordial are available.

*Coffee mugs/cups are not provided in the Dining Hall, please bring your own to meals.

  • Food must be eaten in the dining areas in compliance with safe food handling practices
  • Personal food containers and dinnerware are not permitted in the Dining Hall/Caf
  • Do not remove plates or cutlery from the dining areas
  • Clothing and shoes must be worn at all times
  • Please be respectful to staff and residents

If you are unable to attend the Dinner Service because you have class or a shift at your job, you can pre-order a Late Meal. Please note that these are the only reasons that you can request a Late Meal.

Late meals can be ordered through the Jumpr+ app by 3pm daily. Two late meal choices will be available daily, and all allergen/dietary requirements will be fulfilled. To collect your meal, please see the Community Assistant at the office.

Residents are responsible for the catering of their lunches and any snacks, outside of the meals provided by Chartwells.

Coming soon: Occasional lunches/snacks/additional dinner protein packs (double protein) and other additional services are planned for this year, and will be available through the Jumpr+ app later in 2026.

Chartwell's welcomes respectful and constructive feedback, and may be done by the following:

  • The Chartwell's Feedback book which is located by the plates in the Dining Hall
  • By discussion with the student representatives of our Café Club
  • With the Chartwells Catering Manager, appointments can be arranged by the l-House Manager
