Studying at university can sometimes feel challenging, and it’s completely normal to need support as you adjust to student life and manage your study load. The Student Engagement and Retention Team is here to help you stay on track.
We work closely with your Subject Coordinator to make sure you have the help you need. If extra support is required, we may contact you by email or phone at key points during the session, such as:
- Early in the session – to help you settle into your subject and ensure you can access the right systems and materials.
- After key assessments – to check in on your progress and offer guidance if needed.
We can also work with you to develop a Student Success Plan – a personalised roadmap to help you achieve a successful session at UOW.
How to book a consultation
- Access the Student Success Portal
If it’s your first time using the portal, you’ll need to set up your account. - Join the Student Engagement and Retention Team program
- Click on ‘Coordinators’
- Select the Student Engagement and Retention Coordinator who looks after your Faculty (or Campus)
- Click on ‘Message’
- To book a consultation, click on ‘Request Session’ in the top right-hand corner
- The team will respond to your request as soon as possible
