The Australian Government Research Training Program Award (AGRTP) is a stipend intended to cover some living expenses.
The AGRTP are funded by the Department of Education and Training and are available to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or Australian Permanent Residents.
The University of Wollongong has a limited number of AGRTPs, which are allocated based on merit each year. They are available to Doctoral and Master of Philosophy candidates only.

Scholarship amount
2025 stipend: $35,522 p.a., non-taxable for full-time candidates. Stipends are indexed annually
Duration
Three and a half (3.5) years full-time for Doctoral candidates and two (2) years for Masters of Philosophy.

Successful students will be expected to commence their AGRTP in the Autumn session following application.
