CSCR hosted inaugural seminar by Dr Peter Robertson

On November 1, the Centre for Supply Chain Research (CSCR) held the centre’s first seminar by its member and UOW Honorary Research Fellow, Dr Peter Robertson on to topic of “Emerging Supply Chain Management Teaching and Learning Resources”.

Dr Robertson shared his perspectives on the key principles of supply chain management, using examples from his three textbooks published in recent years. These are Supply Chain Analytics (2021), Supply Chain Processes (2021), and Supply Chain Leadership (2022). In these books, he presents a fundamental framework for supply chain management, and unfolds the theory in various topics including leadership, management processes, analytics and sustainability.

With many Australian based examples, these books provide valuable teaching and learning resources for higher education in Australia, with the potential to be extended internationally. Dr Robertson is currently developing a website providing supporting materials for these books.

Dr Robertson has 39 years of industrial experience working for the Broken Hill Proprietary Company Limited (BHP) and BlueScope Steel. He had also lectured on Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement and Quantitative Analysis at UOW.

Several BAL colleagues, members of the centre, and HDR students attended the seminar, and engaged with Dr Robertson after the seminar. We thank Dr Robertson for sharing his knowledge and expertise, and we look forward to the launch of accompanying learning resources with his books.
