Business school staff are renowned academics who are respected in their fields who bring a wealth of theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise.

Our research programs focus on a variety of business disciplines and related areas. At the PhD level, we provide the training and research abilities necessary for our graduates to find positions in leading university and world class policy and research institutions. Recent graduates from all of our programs are pursuing research-intensive careers with organisations such as the Treasury, Australian Bureau of Statistics, Bureau of Agricultural Economics, all of the major public accounting firms, Department of Finance, Reserve Bank of Australia and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

In her research, Dr Sharna Wiblen has found that managers have subjective and widely different understandings of what constitutes talent and how to go about identifying it.

The march of the robot economy

From making hamburgers to driving trains, the robot economy is inevitable, says Dr Eduardo Pol, and has radical consequences for society. Generally speaking, a robot economy is one in which technological unemployment is increasing, he says. That has strong implications for society in general.
