Registering for workshops

To register for a FIM / WeeFIM Open workshop or a FIM Facility Trainer workshop click on the relevant Register button of the workshop you wish to attend from the table below. Complete the registration form (and application form for Facility Trainer workshops) and email it to FIM. Registration closing dates are generally 2 weeks prior to the workshop date. Prices are listed below.

To organise an AROC FIM / WeeFIM Master Trainer to come to your facility and conduct a FIM or WeeFIM workshop, download and complete the workshop request form (pdf), then email the completed form back to FIM. FIM workshop at your site conducted by AROC Master Trainer.

FIM or WeeFIM Training specific for Community Assessors is available by video conference on limited dates. Please email your enquiry to fim@uow.edu.au for more information.

AROC conducts training for the FIM (Functional Independence Measure) and not the AFM (Australian Functional Measure) – an Aged Care assessment tool. The FIM and AFM are different assessment tools. How to attend workshops

FIM or WeeFIM Open workshop

View upcoming FIM and WeeFIM open workshops. Download a registration form by clicking on the Register button of the workshop you want to attend. Once you have completed the registration form, scan and email it to FIM. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your registration form. Please note, workshops may be cancelled if insufficient registrations are received. You will be notified of cancellation 2 weeks before the workshop date. Confirmation of your place including details of the workshop will be sent to you via email before the workshop date.

If more than eight staff need to be trained from a particular rehabilitation facility, that facility may wish to organise its own on site workshop conducted by an AROC Master Trainer.

How to attend Facility Trainer Open workshop

You must ensure you meet all the requirements to become a FIM Facility Trainer. Facility Trainer workshops are listed in the below table. Download a registration form by clicking on the Register button of the workshop you want to attend. You must complete the registration and application form completely and return it to AROC. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your application. Please note, workshops may be cancelled if insufficient registrations are received. You will be notified of cancellation 2 weeks before the workshop date. Confirmation of your place including details of the workshop will be sent to you via email before the workshop date.

 If there are no available workshops in your state. Please submit an Expression Of Interest to participate in a Facility Trainer workshop by reading, completing and returning an application form.

Workshop registration fee in NZ is $232* plus resource costs.

FIM and Facility Trainer workshops 2023

Registration forms for the FIM and Facility Trainer workshops must be received prior to the registration closing date of the workshop (2 weeks before workshop date). Facility Trainer workshop applicants must send in the relevant registration form and the relevant application form to demonstrate eligibility. The application form can be downloaded with the registration form in the list of workshops below. Workshops may be cancelled if there is a lack of registrations. Generally, cancellation will be notified 2 weeks prior to the planned workshop date.

WeeFIM workshops 2023

Once an application to a workshop has been accepted, should you wish to cancel, you will need to do so by giving 3 working days notice. Failure to do so will incur the full cost of the workshop. Alternatively, another person can be substituted for the person named on the registration form.
