At UOW Liverpool, your Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) is dedicated to creating an exceptional university experience. We’re investing in your success, wellbeing, and sense of belonging through events, activities and programs.

Student engagement and campus life

We have a vibrant calendar of events and activities designed to foster community, celebrate diversity, and help you thrive.

  • Comprehensive Orientation: Our orientation program helps new students transition smoothly to university life, build connections, and discover the full range of support services available on campus.
  • Tea and Toast: Enjoy a light breakfast and friendly conversation every morning. Drop in for casual chats with the Student Success Team and kickstart your day with positivity.
  • Cultural celebrations: Join us as we celebrate Lunar New Year, International Women’s Day, Harmony Day, Ramadan, and other multicultural events that showcase and embrace our community’s diversity.
  • Social events Have fun and make new friends at table tennis tournaments, arcade games, putt putt golf, welcome meet-and-greets, end-of-year parties, and food-focused events that explore healthy eating and global cuisines.

Developing study skills

To enhance student success, SSAF funds are allocated to peer learning support initiatives, providing support, and mentoring to improve study skills and academic performance. 

  • Peer Learning Coaches (PLC): Drop-in sessions and appointments for learning support.
  • Workshops: Sessions on effective study strategies, essay writing, report writing, exam preparation and discipline specific learning support sessions.
  • Mentoring: First Session mentoring and co-delivery of workshops with Learning Skills Advisors.

Student Health and Wellbeing

SSAF funds a range of workshops and support services focused on mental and physical health.

  • Wellbeing Workshops: Sessions focused on reducing exam stress, mental health awareness, and general wellbeing.
  • Housing Support: Drop-in sessions to assist with accommodation issues and provide tips for navigating the rental market.
  • Careers & employability: Summer Jobs Fair and workshops on resume writing, interview skills, and personal branding.
