Lara Warwick is a current undergraduate student at the University of Wollongong (UOW) who was elected by her peers to serve a two-year term. After leaving school in year 11, she entered UOW through an enabling pathway program and is now in her second year of a Bachelor of Neuroscience.
Lara's background is in business management, opening her first café in Kiama Downs in 2015. Later becoming the south coast area manager for Sai Krishna Global, undertaking the opening of a further two hospitality venues, both local to the Wollongong area. Now, after returning to academia, Lara works as a Peer Assistant Tutor for UOWC. In this capacity, she covers subjects across the arts and humanities, business, and the university entrance programme.
In a recent initiative, Lara led a successful Learning and Teaching Innovation Grant application to fund the creation of short course material for UOW teaching staff. The aim of this project is to help staff better understand the needs and barriers faced by neurodivergent students, as well as developing strategies for supporting and elevating them in academic settings.
