How is this program run?

This program is running face to face only.


What will I do?

This Project will engage preservice secondary mathematics teachers and preservice primary teachers in assisting with the tutoring of preservice primary teachers in mathematics, in a dynamic and vibrant learning space, utilising vertical non-permanent surfaces (vertical whiteboards).


How will I benefit?

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Experience, as teachers, the powerful learning that comes through whiteboarding
  • Develop skills and understanding of how to facilitate mathematics learning experiences that are engaging, dynamic, collaborative and activeLearn how to fundraise

How do I apply?

Final year secondary mathematics education students will be invited to participate in their first mathematics methods/professional development subject.

Third-year secondary mathematics education students and third- and fourth-year primary education students can apply by emailing Elise van der Jagt.


Are there any special requirements for this role?

Volunteers need to be in the third-year or beyond of their secondary mathematics education or primary education courses.


Minimum requirements for UOWx recognition

To receive UOWx recognition, you must complete the following:

  • An "engaged" student will need to be complete 20 hours over a calendar year
  • A "highly engaged" student will need to complete 30 hours over a calendar year
