Turn your subject results into extra ATAR points
We recognise the hard work you put into your HSC. If you do well in Year 12 subjects that are relevant to your chosen undergraduate degree at UOW, you can earn up to three extra ATAR points to help boost your admission ranking.
Am I eligible?
You’re eligible for subject adjustments if you:
- complete your HSC in the year before you start at UOW
- receive an ATAR, and
- achieve the required result in a relevant Year 12 subject.
Subject adjustments are available for UOW undergraduate degrees starting in Autumn (February) session only.
You don't need to apply
There’s nothing extra you need to do. UAC calculates your subject adjustments automatically.
If you’ve selected a UOW undergraduate degree as a UAC preference and achieve a result within the specified band for a relevant HSC subject, your adjustment points are automatically added to your admission ranking for that preference.
Interstate students
Subject adjustments also apply to eligible students completing Year 12 outside NSW.

How many extra points can I get?
You can receive up to three extra points for each UOW preference. The number of points you receive depends on the UOW undergraduate degree you've selected, the HSC subjects you complete and your results in those subjects. This means your admission ranking could be different for each UOW preference.
Brad's example:
Brad completes the NSW HSC and receives an ATAR of 89.
He applies for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Music) and achieves a band six in Dance, which is a relevant subject for the degree. So Brad receives the maximum three subject adjustment points, taking his admission ranking for the Bachelor of Creative from 89 to 92.
