STEM Camp for Girls

COVID-19 response

STEM Camp for Girls 2021 has been rescheduled to 2022 due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although we are disappointed, our primary concern is for the safety and welfare of all participants.

We look forward to STEM Camp for Girls Camp returning in 2022.

Break the stereotype. Find your STEMtype.

Our four-day summer STEM Camp provides young women entering Years 10 and 11 in 2021 a fun and hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) experience and an exciting introduction to careers in STEM.

About

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) shapes our world. STEM professionals manage our food and water supplies, promote health and wellbeing, and contribute largely to global productivity and economic growth.

Connect your passions and spark your curiosity with hands-on workshops, industry site visits, and network with like-minded people, STEM industry leaders and current students studying STEM degrees. Find your STEMtype and see how you could shape the world.

Why a STEM Camp for Girls? Innovation thrives with diversity, however there is a lack of diversity in STEM. Women make up over half of our population, yet only 28 per cent of the employed STEM-qualified Australian workforce are female, 14 per cent in Engineering and related technologies, and 25 per cent in Information and Communications Technology (ICT). We are working to change this.

Through equipping yourself with a STEM Degree you are preparing for the future, 75 per cent of the fastest growing occupations require STEM skills.

This camp furthered my understanding of STEM and how it effects the world. This has motivated me to work harder and prove that women can do anything.
