First Year Enrolment Guides Spring 2026

If you’re starting a degree in the Faculty of Arts, Society and Business, the First Year Enrolment Guides below will help you choose subjects for your first session.

If your degree isn’t listed, you can find subjects listed in the UOW Course Handbook.

How many subjects should you take?

  • Fulltime students usually enrol in 4 subjects (24 credit points) each session. This adds up to 48 credit points per calendar year, allowing you to finish your degree within the standard course timeframe. Postgraduate Business full time students should enrol in 18 credit points (3 subjects) each Trimester.
  • Part‑time students can choose 1, 2 or 3 subjects each session, depending on what suits your schedule.

NOTE: International students who have a student visa must be enrolled full-time to ensure you complete your course by your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) end date and are compliant with your student visa responsibilities.

You should also look at the UOW Course Handbook to understand all the rules and requirements for your course. Make sure you use the handbook for the year you started your degree. For example, if you begin in 2026, you should follow the 2026 Course Handbook for your entire degree.
