Our reputation for academic excellence and commitment to student experience is matched by a strong focus on innovation and community impact. From producing highly employable graduates to pioneering research in clean energy and healthcare, we deliver solutions to society’s greatest challenges.
UOW performed exceptionally well in the 2024 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) survey, exceeding national benchmarks in teaching quality, student support, and learning resources. Notably, 87.6% of our graduates secured employment within four months of completing their studies.
We are proud to lead in equity, topping the Australian Financial Review’s 2024 rankings for supporting students from regional, Indigenous, and low-socioeconomic backgrounds. This reflects our unwavering dedication to inclusive education.
UOW ranks 2nd nationally and 16th globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings. Our commitment to sustainability earned us equal 44th globally (9th in Australia) in the 2024 THE Impact Rankings. The 2025 THE World University Rankings by Subject placed UOW in the top 200 globally for five disciplines, including law and engineering (equal 8th nationally). These achievements underscore our teaching and research excellence across diverse fields.
UOW is also one of the most globalised universities in the world, with campuses and joint education partnerships in the UAE, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and India, offering tens of thousands of students access to world-class education.
As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we honour decades of transformative education and research while charting a bold future focused on sustainability, equity, and innovation.
