Why did you choose the University of Wollongong over other universities and specifically UOW Sutherland?
I chose UOW Sutherland campus because it’s close to home, and I have friends that previously did the Bachelor of Nursing degree at the UOW Sutherland campus, and they spoke highly of their experience.
What do you see as the advantages of being able to attend a university close to home?
Because of the convenient location, I regularly take advantage of using the study and computer rooms to complete coursework and assignments. It also allows me to attend work around my class times.
Why did you choose your degree?
I chose nursing because I view it as a well-respected and rewarding career path. There are endless job opportunities that come from being a part of healthcare. There’s room for professional growth and always something new to learn.

It’s a warm and friendly environment. Teachers and campus staff go above and beyond to support students throughout their study journey and build genuine and professional relationships with students that encourage engagement in the course.
In three words, please describe your perceptions of UOW Sutherland.
Supportive, professional, friendly.
What are your career ambitions?
I would like to work in emergency care. I also have career goals of being a Nurse Educator or Nurse Unit Manager.
As a mature age student, what prompted your return to tertiary education?
I want to build a career that has longevity (can work at any age) and is flexible with family commitments. I want to have a job that I’m proud of, whether I'm working full time, part-time or casual.
