Research

Northfields Psychology Clinic values research, particularly where it can be used to improve the treatment and support we offer the community or enhance training for our interns. We have several research projects underway at present. All projects must receive approval from the University of Wollongong Human Research Ethics Committee, as well as approval from the Clinic’s Research Sub-Committee.

Our current projects include:

  • CaPES (Coaching and Parent Emotion Support): delivering a novel coaching-based parenting program.
  • The Therapeutic Model of Assessment (TMA): understanding whether the TMA leads to improvement in the client-therapist relationship.
  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of a mindfulness group program for students.

Previous projects include:

  • Mind the Family: the Confident Carers Cooperative Kids Program
