FinTech is driving innovation in delivering and using financial services globally, both in business and the public sector. Fintech is also emerging as a key enabler of financial inclusion, potentially empowering women through access to financial services and digital financial tools. Fintech companies have an opportunity to leverage data and design gender-sensitive financial tools, products and services that allow women to participate fully in the growing fintech ecosystem.

However, evidence shows that women are underrepresented in Fintech. Only 2% of FinTech companies worldwide have been founded by women, while nine out of 10 FinTech firms have no women in the C-suite. The problem of underrepresentation is compounded due to the convergence of two industries, Finance and Technology, each typically dominated by men.

There is a need to strategically invest in capacity development in FinTech in a targeted manner, such as through education, networks, reskilling, and redeployment.

This webinar will feature a powerful panel of women who will explore the topic: Women in FinTech: Promoting Diversity and Inclusion.
