Compulsory modules

From day one, we want you to feel confident about your transition to university. These modules will prepare you for your studies, get you thinking about your professional future and ensure we are all contributing to a safe and welcoming UOW community.

If you do not complete both modules by the end of your first session your results will be withheld. Once you have completed the programs, it will take up to 24 hours for your results to show.

StartSmart

Essential information skills to introduce you to the UOW academic environment and help you understand your student responsibilities. StartSmart will show you strategies and resources available to assist you in completing assessment tasks, and develop strong academic integrity practices.

CareerSmart

Understand your career options and how to improve your employability by learning what skills you have now, what employers want and how to fill in the gaps with your UOW studies. CareerSmart will help you create an action plan for your future to stay motivated and navigate your way through your degree with a clear focus.

Consent Matters

This is an online module that covers sexual consent, communication in relationships, and bystander intervention. This course will help you understand what consent is and identify situations where it can’t be given.

Compulsory for all first year undergraduate students studying within Australia. CareerSmart must be completed within 60 days of commencing studies at UOW.
