Distance exams

COVID-19 exams update

To protect our staff, students and the community from the spread of COVID-19, there will be no in-person, invigilated exams held in Spring and Trimester 3 2020.

Final exams that would normally be scheduled in exam halls/facilities on UOW's Australia-based campuses, will either be delivered remotely via Moodle or replaced by alternate assessment tasks. Arrangements are specific to each subject and will be communicated to you by your Subject Coordinator.

FIND OUT MORE

The University can arrange your exams if you are enrolled in distance mode. Exam centre allocation will be made according to your home address which is recorded on SOLS eight weeks before the scheduled exam period.

A member of the Exams Team will contact you via your UOWmail account to confirm the location that you have been allocated. Please ensure that you check your email eight weeks before the scheduled exam period, as we will not make changes to your allocated venue after the deadline has passed.

Local students

If you are studying a subject in distance mode and living within a reasonable travelling distance of an exam centre, you are required to travel to that exam centre to sit the exam.

UOW exam centres are at the following locations:

  • Wollongong campus
  • Shoalhaven campus
  • Southern Sydney campus
  • Language and Testing Consultants (Ultimo, Sydney)
  • South Western Sydney campus (Liverpool)
  • Bega campus
  • Batemans Bay campus
  • Southern Highlands campus

Arrangements will be made for you to sit your exam at your closest exam centre. These arrangements will be confirmed in your personalised final exam timetable in SOLS.

Remote students

If you are not able to travel to one of the exam centres, you will be required to find a supervisor who can provide suitable arrangements for your exam.
