ATSE’s Elevate: Boosting diversity in STEM program (“Elevate”) will award up to 500 undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships to women and non-binary people in STEM across the duration of the program.
The Elevate program provides:
- A scholarship
- Access to skill-building workshops
- Access to peer mentoring and networking events
- Access to 24/7 wellbeing and psychosocial support
Elevate scholarships are awarded across three categories – Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Leadership. The program is funded by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, the Department of Defence and Snowy Hydro Limited. A network of partner organisations from across industry and academia support program delivery.

Eligibility requirements
Applicants are required to meet all three eligibility criteria:
Identify as a woman or non-binary person
Be enrolling as a domestic student at an Australian University
Be planning to undertake a STEM degree or a higher degree to improve business acumen (Leadership category only), commencing in 2026
ATSE particularly encourages applications from individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; individuals from regional, rural or remote areas; LGBTQIA+; individuals from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds; low-socioeconomic backgrounds; or those living with a disability. Diversity, inclusion, and achievement relative to opportunity will be considered in the assessment and selection process.
