Cosmetic surgery industry

Dr Yves Saint James Aquino can provide commentary on the ethics of the cosmetic surgery industry, with recent reports claiming the sector is poorly regulated and putting patients at risk. Dr Aquino is a philosopher and physician with expertise in philosophy of medicine, bioethics and ethics of cosmetic surgery. He is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Australian Centre for Health Engagement, Evidence and Values.

 
Removing best-before dates on food

Professor Karen Charlton can discuss calls by sustainability groups to remove best-before dates on food to reduce food waste in Australia, following the lead of several supermarkets in the UK. Professor Charlton is a nutritional epidemiologist in the School of Medical, Indigenous and Health Sciences.


Upcoming jobs & skills summit

Associate Professor Martin O’Brien is available for interview about the upcoming Jobs Summit (1-2 September) and can discuss labour and skills shortages in Australia. Associate Professor O’Brien is an economist and the Director of the Centre for Human and Social Capital Research. His research interests include segmented labour market theory, econometrics, older worker employment issues and hidden unemployment.
