Mental Health Research Fund

About the Mental Health Research Fund

The mental health needs of people in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven area are complex and significant.

Our research stream recognises that mental and physical health are intricately connected and there can be no health without mental health. Individuals with mental health conditions experience poorer physical health. Areas of focus include stress, diet, endocrine and cardiometabolic functioning, obesogenic environments, recovery from mental illness, women’s health, and the mental and physical health impacts of COVID-19.

With your support, the University of Wollongong is perfectly placed to work with local people and organisations to tackle this mental health divide.
