About the symposium

Explore the fascinating realm of material interfaces, where critical processes dictate performance. From tackling age-old challenges like corrosion protection and antifouling surfaces to pioneering new catalytic systems for energy conversion and advanced medical implants, this symposium will feature a dynamic program of expert presentations addressing these transformative topics.

Celebrating 50 years of UOW

Materials Science and Engineering have been at the heart of the University of Wollongong (UOW) since its inception in 1975, supporting ground breaking advancements from world-class steel-making facilities at Port Kembla, to cutting-edge innovations in energy conversion, storage, and medical technologies. To honour the global impact of UOW researchers in these fields, the prestigious journal Advanced Materials will publish a special issue celebrating the 50th Anniversary of UOW. This milestone issue will be launched at the symposium.
