Embarking on a Higher Degree Research (HDR) journey presents many opportunities, yet it introduces an often-overlooked challenge: culture shock. This phenomenon, characterised by a variety of emotional responses due to the loss of familiar social cues and norms, significantly impacts on personal and academic success.
Participants will engage in activities and discussions that foster self-awareness and resilience, developing strategies to overcome the obstacles of academic and social adjustment. Our goal is to empower all HDR candidates to not only adapt but to thrive and excel in their new cultural and academic environments.
