Science Showcase UOW: Live ABC Illawarra radio broadcast from UOW Wollongong

On campus, at the main duck pond lawn and then in the uni bar, ABC Illawarra will broadcast the Mornings show with Nick Rheinberger and then Drive with Lindsay McDougall.

The day will include:

  • Team challenges - with students (or others!) and Nick and Lindsay participating in numerous challenges across the day, representing either the Mornings or the Drive show
  • Broadcast of pre-recordings with UOW scientists in their labs - including analyses and studies in immunology, biochemistry and in saliva, cells and vapes
  • Broadcast of pre-recordings of Lindsay and Nick as participants in experiments. You will hear Lindsay undergoing a cycling challenge and muscle testing, and Lindsay being a simulated patient to have his digestive tract examined by medical students
  • Live interviews with UOW scientists across different career levels, spanning topics across coastal environments, radiation physics, sex hormones in mental health, cancer research, breast injuries in sport, geoarchaeology and more
