Bio
Dr Damian Marinaro is a senior CBRN researcher and Radiological Defence Discipline Leader in the Defence Science & Technology Group of the Australian Department of Defence. Since 2003 he has been working in the field of nuclear and radiological defence, with particular research interests in personnel protection and the standoff detection of radiation. During 2011 and 2012 Damian held the post of Senior Special Operations Science & Technology Advisor embedded within the Special Operations Engineer Regiment, and concurrently held a secondment position at the Australian Nuclear Science & Technology Organisation. He received his PhD in Physics from the University of Wollongong in 2003 and is a member of the Australian Institute of Physics and the IEEE.
