Overview

This course is delivered as part of a dual diploma combining the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management with the SIS50321 Diploma of Sport, giving you two nationally recognised qualifications at the same time. 

This program, delivered by the NSW College of Sport at the Cricket NSW Headquarters, is crafted for the next generation of sports leaders. You'll master the practical skills of coaching, sport development, and business leadership through a dynamic blend of theory, hands-on experience, and professional placement. You'll complete 80 hours of industry placement, organised by our team, designed to connect you to meaningful opportunities across our extensive sports and leisure network, helping you graduate with the confidence to succeed. 

You will graduate with two nationally recognised qualifications in just 11 months with a diverse range of real, practical skills ready for a rewarding career in the sports and recreation industries.

Pathways

Upon successful completion of the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management and the SIS50321 Diploma of Sport, graduates may be able to gain Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT) for a variety of undergraduate programs at university.

Admissions information

The procedures governing admission are defined in UOW's Admissions Procedures, the UOW College Admissions Policy, and the Vocational Entry Procedure For additional information, see UOW College Admission Information.

  • Completed Australian Year 12, or international equivalent; or
  • Completed a Certificate IV level qualification or international equivalent; or
  • Minimum result of Exit Level 3 in online tests administered by UOW College in both Numeracy and Reading; and
  • Minimum age 16 years at course commencement; and
  • Successfully demonstrate academic and course suitability at a panel interview.

    • Credit for Prior Learning

      If you have undertaken previous study or have relevant work and life experience, you may be eligible for credit towards your VET course, known as recognition of prior learning. Recognition of prior learning requires an assessment of your past learning or work experience for equivalency with the content delivered in your chosen course. Recognition of prior learning can include previous education, work experience, or other relevant training. The eligibility criteria and process for applying for recognition and credit will depend on the course and the nature of your prior learning.
