UOW Steel Research Hub Director to speak at the 2023 International Symposium on Sustainable Cokemaking and Ironmaking (ISSCI)

Steel Research Hub partner The University of Newcastle – through its Centre for Ironmaking Materials Research (CIMR) – is hosting the 2023 International Symposium on Sustainable Cokemaking and Ironmaking (ISSCI).

The Symposium will bring together academic and industry experts to communicate technological developments in low carbon and sustainable cokemaking and ironmaking, and address opportunities for collaboration.

Dr Paul Zulli, Director of the Steel Research Hub – led by the University of Wollongong – will be featured as a Keynote Speaker at the Symposium and present on ironmaking decarbonisation, the opportunities, challenges, and research developments requirements. Additional topics to be explored across the event include Low Carbon Ironmaking, Direct Reduction Processes, Sustainable Steelmaking, Raw Materials and Agglomeration, Sustainable Cokemaking, and Process Integration and Optimisation.

The Symposium will be held in Newcastle from the 5-8 February 2023 and consist of a welcome event, two-day symposium, gala dinner, and an invitation-only tour.
