UOW opens three South Coast campuses for Regional Open Evenings
School leavers, career changers and families invited to explore university study close to home
The University of Wollongong (UOW) will open the doors of its Bega Valley, Eurobodalla and Shoalhaven campuses for UOW Regional Open Evenings on Tuesday 1 September, giving families across the South Coast and Southern NSW a chance to explore university study close to home.
Regional Open Evenings are for anyone considering university: high school students planning their next steps after Year 12, people who finished school some time ago and are looking for a pathway into university, and those raising a family who want to undertake study with personalised support.
Prospective students and their families are encouraged to come along, explore the facilities and get a feel for campus life. The events highlight the opportunity to study locally without relocating and how university study connects with local employment and community.
Visitors can tour the campuses, speak with course experts and current students, and see learning environments firsthand. Nursing labs will be open for hands-on exploration, and UOW staff will be on hand to answer questions about pathways, support and what to expect as a regional student. Staff will also advise students planning to attend the Wollongong campus but live locally and have questions about their study.
UOW Provost Professor Ana Deletic said the Regional Open Evenings reflect UOW's commitment to student access and regional engagement.
"The Regional Open Evenings are about making university more accessible and connected to community, and ensuring study pathways lead to real opportunities for people right here on the South Coast and in Southern NSW," Professor Deletic said.
