UOW Chancellor visits Dubai campus to celebrate outstanding students and teaching & research excellence

Students and faculty showcase innovative work and excellent contributions to teaching and research

University of Wollongong (UOW) Chancellor Ms Christine McLoughlin AM visited the University’s Dubai campus earlier this week. The Chancellor was accompanied by Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research and Sustainable Futures) Professor David Currow to engage with and celebrate the outstanding achievements of students and faculty of University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) community.

The two-day visit included engagements with key stakeholders of UOWD as well as celebrating the incredible talent of both undergraduate and postgraduate students that was on display at the Students Project Exhibition.

The Chancellor, along with Professor Currow, UOWD President Professor Mohamad Salem and key members from the University also participated at the Teaching and Research Excellence Awards 2022 hosted by the campus. The event celebrated the excellent achievements and contribution to teaching and excellence at UOWD and creating a positive difference in the community.

“I was truly impressed by the exceptional talent and innovative ideas on display at the Students Project Exhibition,” Chancellor McLoughlin said.

“It was an honour to be part of the esteemed panel alongside Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor David Currow and UOWD President Professor Mohamad Salem.

“Witnessing the innovative projects from our undergraduate and postgraduate students was truly inspiring. Congratulations to all participants for their dedication and hard work! Keep shining!

“It was also an absolute pleasure to attend and celebrate the Teaching and Research Excellence Awards 2022 at our Dubai campus.
